Detailed Description

Business Impact:

Browser vulnerabilities are a prime target for the criminal underground as they are simple to exploit if you can entice a user to click a link.  Malware botnets are infamous for taking advantage of browser vulnerabilities to infect systems and secretly install programs that steal passwords or other sensitive information or simply use the system as a spam bot for profit or to infect new systems.

Technical Description

The Microsoft Visual FoxPro ActiveX control is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the FoxDoCmd function. By persuading a victim to visit a malicious Web page using Internet Explorer, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with the privileges of the victim.
