Technical Description:

Microsoft Word has a memory corruption vulnerability in the Rich Text Format parsing engine caused by insufficient validation of data.  Exploitation of this vulnerability can lead to code execution in the context of the current user.  The vulnerability is specific to Word’s RTF parsing however Microsoft Word can be configured as the rendering engine for certain versions of Microsoft Outlook.  By enticing a victim to open a specially crafted RTF file or potentially viewing an email an attacker can execute arbitrary code in the context of the current user.
