Detailed Description

Business Impact:

The vulnerabilities could allow remote code execution if a user views a specially crafted Web page that instantiates a specific ActiveX control with Internet Explorer. A public exploit is currently available.  Customers that are using the affected applications should consider immediate deployment of patches and protection for this issue.

Technical Description:

A publicly disclosed remote code execution vulnerability exists in Microsoft WMI Tools ActiveX controls.  The vulnerability is due to a specific ActiveX control utilizing user supplied data as a trusted pointer.  This ActiveX control is not installed by default on Windows systems.
